Why I go to Criccieth

You may wonder why it is that myself and over 100 young people migrate to a sheep field in North Wales each year, the truth is amazing!

Camp is only one week but it sticks with you for life. I've been to Criccieth camp four years now and every time has been a new and exciting experience. I learn about God, meet new and old friends and have a wild time! The activities are fantastic, the powerful talks and workshops are inspiring, and the people are incredible. Everyone is so welcomed; you can't come to camp and not enjoy yourself!

I feel a complete freedom of speech and action at camp because of the acceptance that is given to me. Being surrounded by a Christian community gives a safe and loving environment either to learn more about the faith or to flourish without any ridicule that I might experience at home from my peers.

Criccieth gives intensive workshops about aspects of life that affect young people these days, the leaders have often been campers and so understand the troubles and hardships of living under canvas as a teenager! The workshops explore different aspects of life that usually concern young people, relevant to both Christians and non-Christians. The leaders running the workshops incorporate fun art and craft activities and games that have relevance to the topic and use the bible to explain and teach how best to deal with situations and learn about living life as a Christian. I became a Christian on my first year at camp and I've found the bible studies useful and enjoyable.

I've loved every moment of being a camper and can't wait for the new experience of being a leader in a few years. All the leaders are helpful and have guided and strengthened me in my faith. Everyone at camp goes home inwardly changed and outwardly exhilarated. I can't emphasize enough how wonderful life on camp is and how much I cherish my time spent here!
