Why choose Criccieth Adventure?

  1. There are loads of great indoor and outdoor activities, like rock climbing, mountain biking and canoeing. We are constantly looking for new ideas.
  2. it's a unique opportunity to learn more about what it is to be a Christian and what Christ has done for us. With evening worship, discovery sessions and optional workshops we ensure you have the opportunity to learn a bit more about being a Christian and how we live our lives.
  3. We provide Christian support and teaching for you at all levels from 'I really don't know yet I just want to watch and see' through to 'God is the centre of my life'
  4. Most of the leaders were campers and has played a big part in us coming to a Christian faith, we all love camp so much we return to the same place each year and some of us became Christians on camp. We want you to have fun and the experience that is Criccieth Adventure.
  5. We don't just have a tent on a field, we have 5 marquees (one is big enough for indoor football). We have loads of hot water for showers and with full catering facilities to provide cooked breakfasts and evening meals, you'll never go hungry!
  6. Everyone is allocated to a tent of 4-6 people and you are looked after by a Tent Leader whose job is to make sure you get the most out of camp. All the tents come with stunning view over across the bay, where you can see for miles. You may even see dolphins.
  7. On camp there is time to reflect and meet God
  8. Around half the activities are adventure activities like rock climbing, mountain boarding. The other half are much more relaxed and designed to just be great fun like train trips, ice cream tasting, beachcombing or town visits.
  9. Criccieth Adventure and YFC take campers safety very seriously. All staff are carefully selected and trained in their roles. All hold CRB certificates and activities are covered by qualified instructors, overseen by the AALA (Adventure Activities Licensing Authority)
  10. On an activity day you choose from a list of usually 4 or 5 options which cover active sports, such as mountain boarding through to train trips and workshops. There are always free activities available but some do cost extra to cover entry fees.
  11. You will make great friends and we make sure everyone is included. Many friendships last for years and look forward to meeting up again each year. Even our leader Phil Lucas as a young leader met his wife on camp!
  12. We have a no pressure policy as this is a holiday of discovery, all the staff are Christians and we do this in the hope that all campers will come to faith but we do not force this. The only thing we ask is that the you attend the evening talk and just listen to what we have to say. It is all about young people being themselves with real friends and others willing to listen.
